I’m thrilled to share my first piece for the storied — and recently reborn — publication, Jazz Times: an interview with saxophonist Steve Lehman about his new release, Music of Anthony Braxton (Pi Recordings).

I’ve known the new JT editor, David Adler, for years thanks to the Jazz Journalists Association, and really glad to be working with him as this essential publication reenters the scene. Steve Lehman has been sharing his time and thoughts very generously for my book project; and so I was grateful to be able to publish an excerpt from one of our recent conversations to help publicize this excellent, new recording. Additional thanks to Seth Rosner of Pi Recordings for facilitating the entire process.
